What are the responsibilities and job description for the Brake Press Operator position at Mercury Minnesota Inc.?
SUMMARY
Operates Brake Press under the mentorship of the Lead Brake Press Operator.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned in or outside of the regular work area.
- Understands machine function, how to zero set, and turn off/on.
- Ability to learn to create new programs for first-run parts.
- Read, interpret, and make corrections on blueprints, if necessary.
- Complete machine set ups for weekly-run and first-run parts.
- Ability to create set-up sheets if none are available, and follow the sheets to complete the press set-up.
- Accurately measure workpieces.
- Maintenance: cleans and maintains all machines, adjusts and fine tune the machines, keeps work area swept and free of clutter, and properly contains all hazardous materials.
- Effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisor.
- Assists when needed.
- Accurately completes all required paperwork in a timely manner (i.e. job cards, load tags, move tickets, ISO information, etc.).
- Stays at work area with the exception of Company authorized meal and break periods.
- Enforces and follows company policies.
- Comply with all Company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs repetitively.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED): one to three months related experience and/or training: equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence, and to complete the required Company paperwork.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, as well as compute rate and ratio.
REASONING ABILITY
Able to apply common sense to follow written, verbal, or diagrammed instructions. Can handle problems that involve several clear factors in routine situations.

HOURS: Monday-Thursday 5am-3:30pm

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
