What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technician III position at Mercury GSE Maintenance LLC?
JOB SUMMARY
The Technician III performs technical troubleshooting, diagnostics and repairs to the Company’s fleet of ground support equipment and stationary equipment such as loading bridges, stationary air conditioning units, baggage conveyor systems, ground power units, and other equipment in a safe, accurate, and timely manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform a necessary sequence of operations to troubleshoot, disassemble, clean, check, repair, rework, replace, fabricate, assemble, install, and adjust ground support equipment, machinery, accessories, parts, etc. and explain the work procedures to personnel assigned to aid in that work.
- Requires frequent overnight travel (up to 50%).
- Possess full knowledge of primary and sub systems.
- Capable of diagnosing and repairing powertrain assemblies and sub assemblies and subcomponents.
- Utilize diagnostic tools to test, analyze, and collect data for repairs and equipment calibration.
- Proficient in the use of diagnostic software and able to read, delete, and regenerate utilizing diagnostic software.
- Able to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Skilled at troubleshooting (schematics/flowcharts) repairs and adjust hydraulic systems and components.
- Able to diagnose and repair powertrain assemblies.
- Diagnose and repair/replace air conditioning systems and components (compressor evaporator, condenser, etc.)
- Perform quality control checks on completed maintenance and repairs.
- Able to safely and legally operate a motor vehicle.
- Complete forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures.
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in an effective, safe working condition.
- Report any safety violation, machining equipment misusage, and/or improperly performed work to supervisor or lead.
- Responsible for following the rules and regulations set forth by federal, local, and state government and Mercury GSE.
- Keep work area clean and free of any safety hazards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Mercury GSE reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5 years of in-depth experience performing troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of GSE
- Provide and maintain a complete set of tools necessary to perform job
- Possess and maintain a valid class C drivers’ license
- Valid ASE certification or other Diesel certification is a plus
- Must be able to secure proper airport authority security badges
