Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to understand project requirements
- Set up and operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
- Prepare and clean surfaces to be welded, ensuring proper fit and alignment of components
- Execute Mig and Tig welding techniques to join metal components with precision
- Use grinding tools and equipment to remove excess material, smooth welds, and prepare surfaces for further processing and/or to achieve desired surface quality
- Inspect completed welds for defects, irregularities, or inconsistencies imperfections, making necessary corrections to maintain quality standards
- Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures when operating grinding machinery and handling materials
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe working environment
- Regular use of software to track results of production
- Enter data to track results of production in company database
- Communicate effectively to resolve any welding-related issues and maintain a productive work environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in welding is a plus
- Proficiency in Mig and/or Tig welding techniques and equipment operation
- Familiarity with various metals, such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols
- Commitment to safety and compliance with welding regulations
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in various positions and environments
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
Work Schedule:
- Monday - Friday 6:30am-3:00pm
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of the job the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear, or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional loud noises. A representative wage range is included in this posting. Final wage will be based on experience.
