Join Our Consumer Lending Team!
Merck Sharp & Dohme Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced, member-focused Consumer Loan Processor to support our growing Consumer Lending team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping members achieve their financial goals while ensuring loan transactions are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
As a Consumer Loan Processor, you'll play a critical role in the lending process by preparing loan documentation, assisting members with loan-related questions, maintaining loan records, and supporting a variety of consumer lending programs.
What You'll Do
- Process and fund consumer loan applications and prepare loan documentation
- Review loan files for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policies and regulations
- Conduct loan interviews and assist members in selecting appropriate lending solutions
- Support Home Equity, Indirect Lending, Auto Draft, and other consumer lending programs
- Perform quality control reviews on branch, dealer, and electronic loan transactions
- Monitor and maintain required loan documentation and tracking systems
- Prepare loan releases and related documentation for paid loans
- Assist members with GAP, Disability, and Life Insurance claims
- Process payment assistance requests, loan modifications, and Skip-A-Pay applications
- Maintain electronic loan records and assist with HMDA reporting requirements
- Collaborate with team members to deliver exceptional service and support
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 years of loan processing, lending operations, or consumer lending experience
- Strong knowledge of lending policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and lending software systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and make sound decisions
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced coursework or training in lending regulations and compliance
- Credit union or financial institution experience
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience
