Day Porter – PG&E Facilities and Trailer Cleaning Responsibilities
The Day Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment throughout PG&E facilities, office spaces, training areas, and temporary trailer units during business hours. This position requires continuous monitoring of facility conditions and prompt response to cleaning and maintenance needs.

Day Porter – PG&E Facilities and Trailer Cleaning Responsibilities
The Day Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment throughout PG&E facilities, office spaces, training areas, and temporary trailer units during business hours. This position requires continuous monitoring of facility conditions and prompt response to cleaning and maintenance needs.
General Facility Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of all office areas, lobbies, hallways, conference rooms, breakrooms, and common areas.
- Empty trash and recycling receptacles throughout the day and replace liners as needed.
- Spot clean walls, doors, glass, partitions, and high-touch surfaces.
- Dust and wipe desks, counters, tables, windowsills, and other accessible surfaces.
- Vacuum carpeted areas and sweep/mop hard surface flooring as needed.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces, including door handles, handrails, light switches, and shared equipment.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness of entrances and exterior walkways.
- Remove litter, debris, and leaves from building entrances and surrounding grounds.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, vandalism, or damaged equipment to management.
- Clean and sanitize toilets, urinals, sinks, countertops, mirrors, and partitions.
- Restock paper towels, toilet tissue, hand soap, seat covers, and other restroom supplies.
- Spot mop floors and address spills immediately.
- Maintain odor control and ensure restrooms remain presentable throughout the day.
- Inspect restrooms regularly and document service checks as required.
- Clean and disinfect countertops, tables, sinks, appliances, and cabinet fronts.
- Empty trash and recycling containers.
- Wipe down microwaves, refrigerators (exterior surfaces), coffee stations, and vending areas.
- Restock paper products and maintain overall cleanliness of employee break areas.
- Clean and disinfect office trailers, training trailers, and temporary worksite trailers.
- Vacuum carpeted trailer floors and mop hard surface flooring.
- Dust desks, workstations, chairs, cabinets, shelves, and window ledges.
- Clean interior glass, doors, and partitions.
- Sanitize common touchpoints including door handles, desks, tables, telephones, and shared equipment.
- Empty all trash and recycling containers and replace liners.
- Clean and disinfect trailer restrooms and replenish supplies.
- Maintain break areas within trailers, including tables, counters, sinks, and appliances.
- Ensure trailers remain organized, clean, and ready for daily occupancy.
- Patrol parking lots, walkways, and surrounding grounds for litter and debris.
- Empty exterior trash receptacles and cigarette disposal units.
- Maintain clean entrances and remove cobwebs from accessible areas.
- Assist with weather-related cleanup, including removal of leaves, mud, and other debris from entryways.
- Follow all PG&E safety policies, site-specific procedures, and security requirements.
- Utilize proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing assigned duties.
- Handle and dispose of waste materials in accordance with company and environmental regulations.
- Maintain professional conduct while working around PG&E employees, contractors, and visitors.
