What are the responsibilities and job description for the Graduate Management Trainee position at Merchant Row?
Graduate Management Trainee
Start Date: January
Ready to start the new year with a career that actually develops you?
At Merchant Row, we’re offering an ambitious graduate or career changer the opportunity to step into a structured management development pathway where you’ll gain hands-on experience, build leadership skills, and learn how a high-performing sales organisation operates from the inside out.
We partner with T-Mobile to deliver in-person B2B sales campaigns, helping businesses across the region stay connected with fast, reliable telecom solutions. As a Graduate Management Trainee, you’ll rotate through key areas of the business — including B2B sales, client engagement, leadership support, and operational management — with the long-term goal of progressing into a management role.
This is the ideal opportunity for graduates who want to build confidence, learn commercial strategy, and gain real-world leadership experience from day one.
What You’ll Do
Your journey starts by learning the foundations of the business. You’ll spend time developing skills in communication, customer engagement, leadership principles, and strategic thinking — all while gaining hands-on experience with B2B sales. But your development doesn’t stop there.
Stage 1: Foundation (B2B Experience & Product Knowledge)
You will visit business clients in person and represent T-Mobile’s business solutions, learn to identify customer needs, build confidence in presenting value, and develop your communication and problem-solving skills. This foundation ensures you’re equipped to lead others effectively.
Stage 2: Team Leadership Skills
Once you’ve mastered the basics, you’ll begin taking on early leadership responsibilities. You will support new team members during onboarding, help run daily briefings, provide feedback and motivation, and learn how to assess performance and support individual growth. This stage prepares you to guide and inspire others.
Stage 3: Business & Operational Management
As you progress, you’ll gain exposure to key areas of business management. You will learn how to interpret KPIs and campaign performance, understand operational planning, assist with recruitment activities, contribute to strategic discussions, and support team logistics such as territory planning and daily workflow.
This phase builds your commercial awareness and operational confidence.
Stage 4: Management-Level Development & Responsibility
If you excel, you will continue develop into a Campaign Manager or B2B Sales Manager. At this stage, you’ll take on greater leadership involvement such as guiding small teams in the field, helping coordinate outreach strategies, managing territory activity, coaching new staff, contributing ideas to strengthen operations, and setting the standard for Merchant Row’s values and professionalism across all client-facing interactions.
This stage focuses on real-world leadership growth and preparing you for larger responsibilities within the company.
Who You Are
You don’t need management experience — just potential. You’ll thrive if you are:

- Confident speaking with people face-to-face (Candidate will need to be able to communicate in fluent English)
- Curious, driven, and excited to learn
- Organised, dependable, and proactive
- Someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys solving problems
Degrees in Business, Communications, Marketing, Management, or related fields are helpful but not essential.
