Trademark Legal Assistant (hybrid)

Merchant & Gould, one of the nation's premier intellectual property law firms, is seeking a Trademark Legal Assistant. This position will be located in our Minneapolis office.

Summary of Position:
Provides secretarial and administrative support for trademark section and functions as an active member of the Trademark Group.
Responsibilities:

• Open new client matters and maintain prosecution and enforcement files.
• Update and maintain trademark dockets. Review docketed matters for accuracy and communicate any discrepancies.
• Prepare legal correspondence to the USPTO, foreign associates, opposing counsel and clients.
• Coordinate and manage calendars and deadlines for attorneys.
• Draft initial emails and reminders to clients regarding trademark filings and maintenance documents.
• Prepare forms necessary for the prosecution of trademark applications and the maintenance of registrations.
• Manage invoices to clients and foreign associates.
• Enter daily time entries.
• Review team email box and distribute communications to the responsible paralegal.
• Create reports, cost estimates and other special requests.
• Review and edit documents.
• Examine and review work for accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies and processes.
• Performs backup and all other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years trademark experience preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to balance and track multiple projects with flexibility
• Regular attendance at work
