Summary
The ideal candidate excels at diagnosing and repairing truck issues using customer-provided information, technical troubleshooting methods, and extensive hands-on experience with diesel trucks. This individual is comfortable leveraging team knowledge while also conducting independent research to resolve complex problems. In addition to repairs, this role includes performing routine maintenance and providing clear, written documentation in Shopware that accurately captures the diagnosis and tells the story of the repair.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Professional-level communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must possess own set of tools
- Valid Michigan driver’s license
- State of Michigan mechanic certification (ASE certifications preferred)
- Proven experience as a service technician in the automotive or performance parts industry

Preferred Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working specifically with Duramax diesel engines
- Working knowledge of Allison transmissions
- Experience using diagnostic tools such as GM GDS2 or equivalent scan tools
- Familiarity with Shopware or similar shop management systems for documenting repairs and diagnostics
Job Specifications
- Ability to safely perform vehicle inspections and repairs in a shop environment, including working underneath vehicles and in confined or physically demanding positions
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, and maneuver parts and equipment, occasionally exceeding 50 lbs
- Comfortable using shop equipment, diagnostic tools, and computer systems to complete repairs and document work performed
- Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday
- Must be available to work on-site during scheduled business hours to support service operations
- Full-Time / Hourly M-F
