Responsibilities:
The Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality screening and diagnostic mammograms and general diagnostic X-ray examinations in accordance with physician orders, departmental protocols, and regulatory standards. This position plays a key role in delivering accurate, compassionate, and patient-centered care while ensuring compliance with all safety procedures and quality assurance standards.
Qualifications:
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, along with two years of relevant experience. Clinical experience during the course of schoolwork/certification is applicable.
Certifications:
- Current certification from the American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT);
- State of Georgia Licensure and certification in Radiologic Technology.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or obtained within six months of hire date.
- Current CPR certification required or obtained within six months of hire date.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Varied EHR (Athena preferred) systems experience
- Proficiency in operating digital mammography and general radiographic equipment, with the ability to produce a computer-generated or film image for interpretation by a physician.
- Knowledge of positioning techniques, radiation safety, and anatomy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing clinical priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care delivery.
- Familiarity with PACS, RIS, and EHR systems.
- Ability to produce a computer-generated or film image for interpretation by a physician;
- Ability to maintain equipment and safety standards.
- Ability to follow physician orders and established imaging protocols.
