About the Role
As a Driver Recruiter, you’ll connect with independent owner-operators, share the benefits of contracting with Mercer, and guide them through the qualification process. You’ll balance high-volume outreach with relationship building—ensuring a great match for both the driver and Mercer while staying compliant with DOT regulations.
This position is on-site Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Make high-volume calls to prospective drivers to promote Mercer’s opportunities
- Pre-screen candidates to confirm qualifications and interest
- Guide drivers through application and compliance paperwork
- Conduct recruiting meetings by phone, in-person, or at industry events/trade shows
- Maintain accurate records in the recruiting database
- Partner with internal teams at Mercer during the driver's onboarding process
- Build lasting relationships with drivers to support retention and satisfaction
Who You Are
- Highly organized and confident in managing multiple leads and tasks daily
- Skilled at building rapport and maintaining relationships
- Professional communicator with excellent phone presence
- Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Proactive and adaptable in handling challenges
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bonus: Experience in recruiting, call centers, sales, customer service, or trucking industry
