About the Role
As a Drug & Alcohol Testing Administrator, you will manage Mercer’s DOT-compliant drug and alcohol testing program. You’ll oversee random selections, coordinate applicant and post-accident testing, communicate with drivers and testing facilities, and ensure all required documentation is accurate and up to date. Your work is essential to maintaining Mercer’s safety standards and ensuring compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.
What You’ll Do
- Manage Mercer’s federally required random drug and alcohol testing program
- Coordinate testing appointments for applicants, drivers, and post-accident situations
- Notify drivers selected for random testing and provide testing details
- Set up collections at partner facilities across the U.S. and Canada
- Track, document, and update testing results in company systems
- Upload completed results into TenStreet and communicate updates to Recruiting, Claims, and Safety
- Conduct annual FMCSA Clearinghouse queries and maintain compliant driver records
- Maintain chain-of-custody documentation and support FormFox system administration
- Serve as the primary point of contact for testing facilities, collectors, the Medical Review Officer, and laboratories
- Assist with monthly reporting and regulatory submissions, including Department of Transportation Management Information System reporting
- Support Mercer’s Safety Award and License Incentive Discount Programs by auditing mileage, generating reports, issuing award payments, and coordinating special-order items
Who You Are
- Highly organized, accurate, and detail-driven
- Able to handle confidential and time-sensitive information
- Strong communicator with professional phone and email etiquette
- Comfortable working independently while managing multiple priorities
- Proficient with computers and able to learn new systems quickly
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience in transportation, safety/compliance, drug & alcohol testing, or administrative support is a plus
