About the Role
As a Driver Qualifications Coordinator, you’ll support Mercer’s recruiting and safety efforts by managing driver qualification files, verifying documentation, and maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations. Your work ensures our contractors meet Department of Transportation requirements from day one—and stay in good standing throughout their time with Mercer.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare recruiting files for prospective contractor-drivers
- Perform past employer reference checks
- Request Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) according to state-specific procedures
- Track and update applicant status in internal systems
- Report driver terminations and update records
- Assist in organizing and filing documentation in Driver Qualification (DQ) files
- Purge outdated or unnecessary documents from DQ files as needed
Who You Are
- Highly organized and detail-focused
- Comfortable handling confidential documents
- Strong communicator—able to speak and write professionally with drivers and internal teams
- Tech-savvy and adaptable to changing systems and processes
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Prior experience in transportation, safety/compliance, or administrative support is a plus
