We are seeking a dependable Medical Assistant to join our primary care team. This position supports the doctor by performing a mix of clinical and administrative duties. The ideal candidate is punctual, diligent, and experienced.
Schedule:
Full-time: Monday - Thursday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) & Friday (8:00 AM– 2:00 PM)
Responsibilities
Clinical Duties:
- Room patients and prepare them for examination in a primary care setting
- Obtain and document vital signs
- Perform point-of-care testing, including blood glucose checks
- Administer injections and immunizations as directed
- Perform EKGs
- Update patient histories, medications, and pharmacy information
Administrative Duties:
- Answer and triage incoming phone calls
- Verify insurance eligibility prior to appointments
- Manage incoming and outgoing faxes
Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant experience required
- Previous experience in family medicine, internal medicine, or primary care preferred (1-2 years)
- Medical Assistant certification (CMA/RMA) preferred but not required
- Strong understanding of routine primary care workflows and patient care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy clinic environment
- Experience with EMR systems preferred
