Summary
Compensation: $16 per hour to $150-$250 per day.
**Credentials and experience determine daily rate.**
Work Hours: 4 to 8 hours shifts between the hours of 7:30am-6:30pm
Do you enjoy working with young children? Are you looking for a flexible work schedule? With multiple locations, various positions are available daily. Choose the dates and sites that work best for you! A Substitute Preschool Teacher is responsible for managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom for children five years old and under.
Duties
An understanding of a student’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development is beneficial to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where they are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults to meet needs, effectively guide, and resolve concerns.
Additional duties include:
- Supervising students in and out of the classroom, including on the playground.
- Ensuring all center policies and state regulations are met.
- Maintaining a healthy classroom environment including appropriate hygiene & cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
- Implementing teacher lesson plans.
- Following the classroom schedule.
- Maintaining accurate records, forms and files.
- Changing diapers and helping children with toileting (as necessary).
- Working cohesively with additional teachers in the classroom.
- Obtaining CPR and First Aid training.
Requirements
Must complete appropriate paperwork, clear full background check, pass health screening and have any of the following:
- High School Diploma & classroom experience.
- ParaPro Certification or 48-60 college credits.
- NJ Substitute Teacher Certificate.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- NJ Standard Teaching Certification.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual a plus.
- Knowledge of the Creative Curriculum.
- Preschool teaching experience.
