Position Summary
This job is ideal for those who want to combine their excitement for sporting and live events with broadcast and network A/V engineering. You will be working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a group of close-knit, passionate, and talented teammates who serve a wide range of customers, including internal associates, major and private events, and fans. This role is for you if you enjoy collaborating closely with others to serve the business and address opportunities.
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, this position will be part of the IT leadership team and will be responsible for the planning, implementing, and managing all broadcast and network audio-visual systems at the stadium and other AMB Sports and Entertainment facilities. This position leads the day-to-day broadcast and network A/V engineering function required of major and private events at the stadium and will oversee a team that includes engineers and technicians who work in partnership with business stakeholders and external clients to support those events.
The position will primarily be based in Atlanta, GA, at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium but will also work from other locations around metro Atlanta as needed. Must be able to carry a cell phone and respond quickly to occasional requests for critical assistance. Working events at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium will be required. Some occasional travel may be required.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • As a member of the IT leadership team, actively participates in envisioning strategic direction, goals, and priorities; makes effective and efficient use of resources; sets high, achievable aspirations for services and operations that align with the organization’s goals and objectives
  • Oversee, maintain, and support all broadcast and network A/V equipment and systems at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and ideally fix issue(s) that arise in the stadium’s Video Production Control Room in partnership with the Production team
  • Work with outside vendors in periodic repair, maintenance, and operation of broadcast and network A/V equipment and systems.
  • Assist in providing broadcast engineering support for events at the stadium. Before events, ensure all Broadcast and A/V equipment and systems are operational.
  • Motivates, leads, and develops a high-performing team of individuals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth. Provides mentorship and guidance to team members, enabling them to achieve their full potential.
  • Develops, proposes, and manages the annual operating budget and long-term plans for broadcast and network A/V and related services
  • Oversee and support the installation and maintenance of broadcast and network A/V equipment throughout the stadium. Additionally, partners with stakeholders to align and prioritize current and future initiatives in support of the stakeholders' objectives and business needs. 
  • Works with Event Services team, Production team, and other stakeholders to make sure broadcast and network A/V infrastructure reasonably accommodates the needs of major events
  • Oversee the daily flow of A/V requests throughout the stadium, which includes overseeing A/V techs and ensuring meeting spaces and clubs A/V are operational and meet clients’ needs
  • Maintain all broadcast and network A/V drawings and design specs.
  • Partners closely with Information Security to ensure architecture is implemented securely, regularly patched for vulnerabilities, and remediation items are properly prioritized. Also works closely with IT Infrastructure team to properly integrate broadcast and A/V infrastructure into the broader IT environment. 
  • Ensures that various teams have developed standardized work processes regularly updated through lessons learned from previous experiences and consistently applied. 
  • Closely maintains relationships with critical vendor partners and ensures they are effectively aligned and executing to established requirements and Service Level Agreements (SLA).
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in the area
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in video and A/V broadcast engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the sports/broadcast entertainment field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience required
  • Vendor and Project management experience required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Proven troubleshooting, research, and implementation skills required
  • Experience with Ross Tessera System, Evertz EXE ASPEN IP Router, Ross Acuity production switcher, and Daktronics LEDs a plus 
  • Must be flexible to accommodate shift changes, including extended hours, weekends, and evenings
