Job Responsibilities
- Learn and conduct CARB OBD production vehicle evaluation (PVE) activities at MBRDNA in close coordination with our operative certification & relevant RD teams.
- Plan and coordinate resources for testing (vehicle, manpower, test cells, equipment). Generate detailed test plans and schedules with support of the team leader.
- Conduct testing, investigate and identify issues firsthand, determine root causes, and develop countermeasures in a team environment. Working together with PVE team members, ensure OBD regulation conformity.
- Analyze data, summarize results, and prepare reports for internal customers and external regulatory agencies.
- Build upon, or newly develop tools and systems for testing and data acquisition to improve quality and efficiency.
- B.S. mechanical, electrical, or automotive engineering
- 3 years of relevant work experience
- Knowledge of powertrain systems, preferably including diesel and gasoline engine emissions and OBD systems, regulatory requirements
- Experience with testing and data acquisition systems, preferably in the automotive field
- Experience investigating issues firsthand with strong analysis and problem solving abilities
- Detail-oriented mindset for planning and program management
- Ability and initiative to optimize and continuously improve processes for quality and efficiency
- Ability to communicate and work in a diverse multicultural environment
- Valid US Driver's License
- Experience with use and programming of automated testing and data analysis tools (ie. LabVIEW, MATLAB, Simulink, python)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
