Role Description The Parts Counter Representative is a full-time, on-site role based in West Palm Beach, FL. This position is responsible for assisting service technicians and retail customers with identifying, locating, and ordering the correct Mercedes-Benz parts and accessories. Daily tasks include looking up parts in electronic catalogs, checking inventory levels, preparing and processing parts orders, and organizing incoming and outgoing shipments. The role involves maintaining an orderly parts department, labeling and stocking parts, and ensuring accurate records for inventory and customer transactions. The Parts Counter Representative also answers phone and in-person inquiries, provides pricing and availability information, and supports the service and sales teams to ensure efficient and timely repairs and vehicle deliveries.
Qualifications
- Experience in automotive parts, dealership parts operations, or a related customer-facing role, preferably in a premium or luxury brand environment.
- Ability to use parts catalogs, dealership management systems, and basic computer applications (e.g., inventory systems, email, spreadsheets) accurately and efficiently.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical information in a clear and professional manner.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, including attention to detail, accurate data entry, and the ability to handle multiple requests simultaneously.
- Basic mechanical or automotive knowledge and familiarity with vehicle components; prior Mercedes-Benz or European automotive experience is a plus.
- Ability to lift and move parts as needed, stand for extended periods, and safely handle parts and equipment in a busy parts department environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional automotive, technical, or parts-related training or certifications are beneficial.
- Willingness to work scheduled shifts, which may include some evenings or weekends, and to collaborate effectively with service, sales, and management teams.
