Aufgaben

The mission of Mercedes-Benz Manhattan Shop Foreperson is to plan, organize, lead, and control the flow of service work through the workshop in a professional, timely, and efficient manner while ensuring quality repairs at a fair cost to the customer.

The Mercedes-Benz Manhattan Shop Foreperson must provide a consistently outstanding brand & customer experience through consistently outstanding preparation, attitude, & teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Must be fair, articulate, enthusiastic and a self-motivated team player with outstanding communication skills (both written & verbal), a positive attitude and an excellent work ethic. Must be able to lead the technician group through example and encouragement, especially when the workload dictates.
• Must be able to review CDK to ensure that each technician is punching on repair orders properly, flagging time appropriately, and moving through repair work on a daily basis.
• Must have knowledge of all tools & equipment used to diagnose, troubleshoot & repair various hydraulic, pneumatic, & electrical systems in all Mercedes Benz models.
• Strong follow up and organizational skills, including reviewing technician production performance on a daily basis, including running and analyzing reports relevant to technician production. This includes investigating and correcting issues relating to lack of production.
• Must be able to interact with customers, including explaining repair work, going for road tests, and fielding customer questions regarding their Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
• Foreperson will also be responsible for mentoring and teaching technician trainees, technician interns, and line technicians. This includes proper diagnosis techniques, explaining tools and resources available, best practices for repair work, and utilization of efficiency measures.
• Must be able to monitor and review technician behavior and discipline when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and ensure that each technician also keeps their work area clean and safe.
• Able to commute into and out of Manhattan/New York City on a daily basis.
• Dispatching work out to the shop
  
  

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma with post-secondary technical training.
• Must have 7 of experience in repairing vehicles.
• Must have a valid NYS inspection license.
• Able to work Saturdays and Holidays, when necessary
• Able to withstand the physical requirements of the position
• Valid Drivers’ License
