Description Of Duties/Essential Functions
Under administrative direction, provides extensive technical consultation to the Division Manager; researches and analyzes technical and/or complex Individual Income Tax issues; identifies training needs and develops and conducts technical training classes; evaluates, recommends changes and monitors legislative proposals and tax forms designs affecting the Division as well as drafts legislative proposals to enhance processing efficiency; performs quality review activities; compiles and prepares a variety of statistical reports for the division; participates in testing and designing new individual income tax systems; performs a variety of
special projects relative to individual income tax issues for the Division Manager as requested.
Minimum Requirements
Requires equivalency to four years of college with Coursework in business administration, tax accounting or tax law; requires three years professional experience in related tax accounting work; requires extensive knowledge of current Illinois and Federal tax laws, rules and regulations; requires ability to analyze tax returns and documents and make independent decisions on complex Cases; requires ability to plan, assign, and supervise subordinate staff; requires ability to manage a supportive agency program. PhysiCal requirements are: standing, reaching above shoulder level and lifting tax batches/files weighing up to 25 pounds.
