Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Under close supervision, will work with licensed Agricultural Commissioner staff to assist with program duties in agricultural programs including pest exclusion, pest detection, pesticide use enforcement, pest management, F & V standardization, direct marketing, crop statistics, and other programs related to the agricultural commissioner's responsibilities.
Course Work In The Following Disciplines
Individuals who are, or have been, a dependent child in foster care, a homeless youth, or a formerly incarcerated youth as defined by Government Code section 31000.11 are encouraged to apply and will be given priority. - Data entry and completion of reports; assist with issuance of permits and certificates.
- Assist with record keeping.
- Assist with inspection of pesticide applicators, pest control businesses, farm labor contractors, certified farmers' market producers, commodities, nursery stock, insect detection traps.
- Assist with education and assistance to growers, the agricultural industry, and the public.
- Assist with sample collection of pesticide residue samples, phytosanitary inspection samples, biocontrol samples, insect samples, plant samples, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Skills.
- Basic office equipment skills and knowledge.
