About the Employer

The Merced County Office of Education assists Merced County’s 20 school districts through support and oversight of curriculum and instruction, alternative education, business services, early education, technology, migrant education, special education, and teacher credentialing. MCOE is led by the elected Merced County Superintendent of Schools and governed by the Merced County Board of Education. While serving as a focal point to facilitate local school/government/community partnerships, MCOE is responsible for the fiscal oversight of each school district in Merced County, hears appeals for student expulsion hearings and interdistrict transfers and operates Green Meadows Outdoor School.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the teacher, the Instructional Support Assistant I – Driver assists in carrying out educational plans for individual students. Performs a variety of routine tasks to assist and care for children assigned to school programs. Transports students to and from school and on field trips as required. Provides direct care, supervision, and support of the children in a regular and/or special education classroom setting. Maintains and prepares classroom materials, records, and assigned student files. Provides instructional assistance that reinforces learning to students. (INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT / AIDE)

Requirements / Qualifications

1. COMPLETE online application 2. Resume 3. HS Diploma/Equivalent 4. Unofficial College Transcripts (48 college units completed) OR Satisfactory results from a Proficiency test 5. EXPERIENCE: 6 months of experience working with and/or driving students

Applicants who have a high school diploma and meet the experience requirement MAY BE invited to take Proficiency testing. Meeting the above does not guarantee a test or an interview.

Copy of Transcript (MUST have 48 college units (any) OR satisfactory result from Proficieny exam)
Resume (MUST include volunteer/unpaid experience)
