We're looking for a Medical Receptionist who enjoys having responsibility, flexible multitasking and being part of our team! The position is a key contact for patients.
Responsibilities include:
This multi-disciplinary position will require one to greet patients in a friendly and professional manner, verify patient's appointment, update and verify patient's information (including insurance verification), maintain the smooth flow of communication between patient, provider and other clinic staff, handle scheduling inquiries, call to remind patients about their appointment
Answer telephone calls promptly and courteously, retrieve answering machine messages and return calls appropriately, transfer calls to other staff appropriately, make, schedule, and re-schedule appointments as needed.
Provide assistance and information to the patient when requested, keep the waiting area tidy, organized and safe.
- Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
- Ensure proper credit/payments is maintained on the patient's account (e.g. perform cashier duties, posting charges, print out receipts, collect co-pays), responsible for opening and closing of cash box.
- Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
- Contributes to team effort as needed.
- A successful candidate for this position will preferably have previous medical office experience, a friendly and caring disposition, a high level of organization and an ability to work quickly.
- Provide limited history taking and diagnostic testing when necessary, assist with language translation when necessary, assist with patient flow.
- Billing experience is highly desirable.
Skills and Qulaification:
Bilingual ( Fluent English and Spanish ) is required.
Desirable: Familiarity with electronic medical records and computers. High school diploma.

Pay: $18.00 - $19.50 per hour
