Position Summary:
The Equipment, Logistics, & Yard Manager is responsible for daily management and coordination of our construction equipment, vehicles and yard.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing the overall operations of the yard, including materials handling, transportation planning, and equipment management
- Ensuring and keeping record that equipment operators are maintaining equipment (housekeeping: hours used, DEF, lube, track cleaning, damages, etc.)
- Monitoring, tracking, and reporting on:
- tire replacements
- equipment damages
- idling time
- fuel usage
- harsh driving incidents (GPS)
- Maintaining inventory of all tools and small equipment (purchase date, SN, value, description, operating manuals, registration, warranty, repair records, etc.)
- Ordering equipment parts\fluids and maintaining supply.
- Keeping inventory of small tools and equipment in service trucks.
- Working with and scheduling the Mechanic for maintenance and repairs on equipment.
- Working with the Accounting department to ensure that licenses, permits and taxes are up-to-date and paid (IFTA, 2290, Residual Waste, etc.)
- Maintaining the Master Equipment List and rental rates on MS Excel
- Ensuring all equipment is stored properly and digital records are in order on the server.
- Managing the movement of construction equipment and materials
- Maintaining the Samsara program, ensuring proper usage by employees and educating new users.
- Overseeing maintenance of the dump site and organization of our construction yard.
- Being the point of contact for lay-down areas and deliveries within the yard.
- Obtaining oversize-load permits and planning routes
- Ensuring that safety equipment is inspected annually (including fire extinguishers, slings, etc.
Know how to and be the back-up for:
- Dispatching and moving equipment
- Pursuing additional trucking business
Required Qualifications:
This is a demanding, hands-on and multi-tasking position which requires strong organization skills and an assertive personality. All of these skills are required:
- MUST be computer-savvy and highly organized – use of Microsoft Excel and computerized maintenance management systems (such as Samsara) is required.
- Experience with construction equipment
- Experience with tool-inventory software and systems
- Experience with trucking and equipment logistics and maintenance
- Strong knowledge of materials handling and transportation planning
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook and all forms of data entry
- Effective utilization of the internet as a research and information source
- Professional demeanor to represent the organization at all levels and in the public
- Understanding of the construction industry
- Ability to compose professional correspondence

Salary range $70,000-$90,000
Salary : $15,236 - $70,000
