About the Firm and Role
We are a fast-paced litigation firm focused on insurance defense and related civil litigation across New York and New Jersey. Our attorneys rely on strong administrative structure, efficient workflow, organized office systems, and sound financial tracking.
We are seeking recently admitted attorneys to join a successful and fast-paced litigation practice. This role is ideal for candidates who have recently been admitted and are looking to build a strong foundation in litigation.
This position offers direct, hands-on involvement in active cases and meaningful responsibility early on. Candidates will gain exposure to a high-volume, deadline-driven environment while working closely with experienced attorneys.
The ideal candidate is someone with up to two (2) years of experience, preferably in collections or bankruptcy law. Experience in no-fault litigation is not preferred for this role.
Key Responsibilities
Core Litigation Functions
• Draft pleadings, motions, and proposed judgments.
• Review evidentiary materials and case files to identify key facts and legal issues.
• Assist with court filings, document preparation, and general litigation support.
Legal Research and Analysis
• Conduct legal research using recognized legal research tools and platforms.
• Prepare summaries of case law, statutes, and legal authorities.
Case and Document Management
• Organize and maintain case files to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
• Support e-filing and document management processes.
• Utilize Excel and other tools to track case materials, deadlines, and deliverables.
Quality Control and Execution
• Review and finalize work product to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with firm standards.
• Handle assignments independently, including tasks with limited direction.
• Manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Team Collaboration
• Work closely with attorneys and staff to support ongoing litigation matters.
• Receive and apply feedback constructively to improve work product.
• Maintain clear and professional communication across the team.
Qualifications
• Recently admitted attorney.
• 0–2 years of experience; prior experience must be in collections or bankruptcy law. (As a paralegal and attorney collectively)
• Strong interest in a fast-paced, high-volume litigation environment.
• Experience or familiarity with drafting pleadings, motions, and legal documents.
• Proficiency with legal research tools, document management systems, and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to respond well to feedback.
