We are seeking a Occupational Therapist to join our team in our Hummelstown, PA location.
Earn $49.21 per hour working a flexible 20 hours per week M - F business hours.
Merakey AVS is a non-profit organization which provides homes and a full range of services to adults with all levels of intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The majority of the individuals that we support are diagnosed with severe or profound IDD. In addition, most of the people we serve have multiple physical disabilities, extensive medical complications and may require supports for challenging behaviors.
Position Details
- Provides evaluation/consultation in all areas of occupational therapy following Merakey policy and procedures.
- Collaborates with team to determine individual equipment needs, including wheelchair adaptations and feeding equipment in the Program and Residential setting.
- Creates and maintains appropriate documentation (including assessments, and appropriate tools to assess and goal planning) with accuracy and completeness.
- Develops, conducts, and participates in training to all parties involved in providing successful therapy.
- Works with Psychology Department on equipment required for behavioral intervention.
- Participates in developing work assignments for the Motor Development Specialist(s) in the area of Program implementation.
- Makes recommendations to Program Director concerning overall goals, objectives and functioning of Therapy Department; assists in revision of Department policy and procedure.
- Participates in OT/PT clinics.
- Performs related work as required.

Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- License Certification (current PA OTR / Licensure)
- Bachelor's Degree (Graduate of an Accredited Occupational Therapy Program)
- Experience working w/ IDD Preferred
- Clean, valid driver's license.
