We are seeking a Behavior Support Professional to join our team!
Earn: $26.57/hour.
Under appropriate clinical supervision, the Behavior Support Professional completes assessments, develops strategies, writes personalized Behavior Support Plans for individuals with basic to moderate behavior concerns. This role trains and mentors the support team. This position is responsible for efficient and appropriate development, facilitation, documentation and revision of Behavior Support Plans, according to the person’s Individual Support Plan and per Merakey policy.
Applicant should have a basic understanding of medical factors and its relations to behavior. The Promotion of positive practices and strategies of presenting issues, based on functional behavioral assessments, as an applied methodology in clinical practice is a primary expectation.
The Behavior Support Professional will:
- Complete observations in various settings and conducts comprehensive Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) of presenting issues from aggression, self-injurious behavior, adverse mental health symptoms, law offending behavior- sexual or other identified presenting issues
- Collaborate with the person, their family and team in the development and maintenance of a behavior support plan.
- Train and mentor the persons support team on how to implement plans.
- Complete documentation including but not limited to data collection, progress reporting, development and revision of the Behavior Support Plan (BSP)
- Provide timely documentation, per policy, including but not limited to data collection, progress reporting, development and revision of the BSP.
- May provide external consultation services for assessments.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology or related
- NADD or NADSP certification preferred
- Two years experience working with adults with IDD and co-occurring mental health concerns
- Experience developing, implementing, or supporting Behavior Support Plans under appropriate clinical supervision
- Demonstrated ability to support individuals with behavioral challenges
- Proven competency in writing supports plans and effective verbal communication skills
- Ability to train and mentor others
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary setting with physicians, nurses, direct staff and other team system supports
