A well established and reputable mechanical and electrical engineering firm in northern Virginia, Maryland, and DC, serving clients in the private and public sectors. We have an opening for an Electrical Designer/Engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience in building engineering systems design. Applicants are required to commute or planning to relocate before starting work near Manassas VA.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform building electrical engineering design tasks with minimum supervision.
- Perform field surveys and client meetings to collect project info and projects reviews
- Apply Building Codes including NEC, Fire Alarm Code and IECC
- Building Electric Service Design and Demand Calculations
- Building Power Distribution
- Power and Lighting Layout Design
- Emergency Power Systems
- Site Lighting and Photometrics Analysis
- Technical and Specification Writing
- Construction site visits
- Preparation of detailed design documents.
- Performing QA/QC of design work.
- Coordinating work with other disciplines.
The successful candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications:
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
- Professional Engineering License
- 5-10 years' experience in building electrical engineering, particularly design.
- Knowledge of building codes and construction standards
- Must be proficient with AutoCAD or Revit
- Effective communication skills and ability to interface with clients
