What are the responsibilities and job description for the Budtender position at Meowy Jane?
Meowy Jane and the Glitter Box are looking for a highly motivated, positive and knowledgeable part-time Budtender/Lounge Attendant with potential to grow into full time work. The successful candidate will possess outstanding customer service skills, constant desire for self-improvement, attention to details, and of course a love of cats! Our ideal candidate will be someone with a passion for Cannabis and Cats Prior knowledge of cannabis or experience handling cats is a plus but we will train the right person.
This entry-level position offers the opportunity to learn and grow with the Company. Meowy Jane has been a longstanding member of the cannabis community in Maine, with 10 years of Medical Cultivation Operations, and 4 years of Adult Use Retail Operations. This past year we also opened The Glitter Box, a cat lounge located adjacent to our Portland Meowy Jane retail location, where we foster cats for adoption through local rescue partners. This is a hybrid role that will include duties for both the dispensary as well as the cat lounge.
Responsibilities and Duties
The main responsibilities of the Budtender include
- Interacting with, educating, and advising patients to help them shop for their medicine.
- Operating a POS system to check in customers and complete transactions.
- Helping to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming facility inside and out.
- Assisting with inventory management.
The main responsibilities of the Lounge Attendant include
- Check-in Guests and escort them into the lounge
- Helping maintain a clean and sanitary environment for the cats and guests (this includes scooping litter, cleaning messes, etc.)
- Handling cats on a regular basis
Preferred Skills and Licenses
- Valid IIC
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Ability to learn quickly.
- Ability to communicate clearly and calmly in a positive manner.
- Perform job duties in a fast-paced work environment with the ability to work well with others in times of stress

Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic Computer knowledge
Physical and Other Requirements
- Must be able to spend extended time standing, walking, bending, and reaching
- Employees are required to perform repetitive motions.
- Reliable transportation
- Must pass a State background check
- Must be 21 years of age or older
