Do you love cats? And we mean REALLY love cats? Do you have over two years of cleaning experience - either with pets or humans? We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented cleaner to join our team at Meow Lounge. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness, ensuring that spaces are welcoming and hygienic. This role is vital in providing a safe and pleasant atmosphere for both employees and visitors. The Lounge is a non-profit 501(c)3 and has a small gift shop, which is separate from the space where the cats live.
Duties
- Perform cleaning tasks in assigned areas - one large lounge room - which is set up as a Foster Home for adoptable cats from local rescues. We typically have around 20 cats staying with us.
- Dust, sweep and vacuum floors to maintain cleanliness.
- Clean and sanitize surfaces such as tables, chairs and window sills.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly.
- Restock supplies in Lounge.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management.
- Follow established cleaning protocols and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist with special cleaning projects as directed.
Requirements
- At least two years experience in a cleaning or janitorial role is required
- At least one year working/volunteering with animals.
- Available to work on Sundays
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning duties, including lifting and moving items as necessary.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings or weekends if required.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic are essential for success in this role.
