Purchasing Agent

Menzner Hardwoods has an opening for a Purchasing Agent on first shift. Hours are 6:30am-2:30pm, Mon-Friday.

As a purchasing agent, you will be responsible for sourcing equipment, goods and services as well as managing vendors. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, and across multiple locations.

Purchasing experience, preferably in manufacturing is preferred. A background in maintenance or mechanical area would be helpful. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to be able to professionally work with a variety of internal and external contacts. Must also have good computer skills, and familiarity with purchasing module of business software would be beneficial.

Responsibilities:

· Develop and execute purchasing strategies

· Develop negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms

· Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers

· Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand

· Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
