We are seeking a dedicated Dispatcher to coordinate transportation and logistics operations within our organization. The Dispatcher will be responsible for managing freight movement, scheduling deliveries, and ensuring efficient communication across departments. This role is vital in maintaining smooth supply chain operations and delivering exceptional service to our customers. Lumber Industry is highly suggested.

SUMMARY

Effectively and efficiently coordinates and maintains all aspects of material dispatch for the company. Manages the delivery fleet and Mentor location delivery drivers to ensure the timely, correct, and most efficient delivery of products to customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Manages and coordinates all facets of the company product delivery system.

* Ensures deliveries are made on time and in the most fiscally responsible manner possible.

* Assigns and directs order of deliveries and driver assignments.

* Ensures professionalism of delivery drivers.

* Receives and coordinates add-on and fill-in order deliveries.

* Methodically verifies the accuracy and safety of all loads leaving the yard for delivery.

* Review all delivery tickets to ensure proper information is included.

* Works closely with bunkers and promptly informs them of any add-on tickets or changes.

* Maintains in-depth knowledge of all industry, local, state and federal regulations relating to driver safety, material handling, and fleet management and licensure.

* Ensures drivers closely follow all local, state, and federal trucking regulations and safety procedures at all times.

* Verifies that drivers perform daily vehicle/equipment inspections as per federal regulations on trucks and piggyback tow motors.

* Makes certain delivery staff follows all regulations relating to the handling and delivery of materials.

* Establishes maintenance, repair, and recommends replacement schedule for all delivery equipment, vehicles, and machinery.

* Professionally and promptly assists with any and all delivery questions.

* Contacts customers and/or salesperson on delivery progress or to confirm changes in delivery status.

* Manages and communicates as to status of availabilities in delivery schedules.

* Verifies delivery charges.

* Runs and verifies daily delivery reports.

* Accurately and efficiently completes and monitors inter-company material transfers.

* Documents daily delivery/order problems.

* Accurately verify and processes invoices and transfers

* Develops and adheres to annual plant and delivery budgets.

* Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety and fire regulations, including posting of safety regulations and notices.

* Assists with the orientation and training of delivery personnel.

* Responsible for the maintenance of positive relations with co-workers, customers, vendors, etc.

* Is the emergency backup CDL driver in the event of staff shortages. Perfered

* Responsible for the maintenance, usage, etc., of the diesel fuel system, DEF, and maintain proper levels on hand.

* Required to inspect all delivery trucks for properly loaded before they leave.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must possess knowledge and affluent ability of jobs and time allotments of loads to be bunked, loaded and delivered.

In depth and working knowledge of DOT, OSHA and FMCSA regulations related to delivery staff, vehicles, equipment, delivery and material handling.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid CDL license is required

Tow motor training certification will be needed ( if not will be trained)
