Maintenance Technician
Main Building-1st Shift
MHS is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician/Assistant to provide support, preventative maintenance and make repairs and renovations of the main building and other facilities for MHS. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position working Monday-Friday. Some on-call may be required. Candidates must be able to meet the MHS driving standards for liability coverage
Responsibilities
- Conducts daily/weekly/monthly inspections to evaluate the physical condition of cleanliness of the MHS facilities. Inspects all equipment to determine the need for new parts, repairs, overhauls, satellites, and cleanliness before and after use. Recommend painting and repairs. Report any unsafe conditions. Make recommendations based on agency needs. Knows and follows federal and state regulations for physical plant maintenance while performing daily maintenance requests.
- Follows procedures and assists in maintaining fire alarm systems and testing per regulatory requirements, including the National Fire Protection Act.
- Knows and follows all preventative maintenance programs and procedures as directed, documenting actions as needed. Works with vendors and contractors as needed for repairs and maintenance of facilities. Assists with coordination of preventative maintenance visits and audits.
- Perform routine maintenance and repair work in coordination with other departments. Maintains documentation as needed.
- Complete and maintain Stericycle DOT Hazardous Material Training/Certification every 3 years as required
- Properly maintains the facilities outside areas as directed by supervisor.
- Eliminates and prevents safety hazards relevant to the maintenance department.
- Identifies areas of problem/needs through surveys and communicates these to department director as needed.
- Assist staff with maintenance requests via ticket system and ensure safety and compliance when completing tasks.
- Assist with inclement weather procedures and policies, including preventative maintenance
- Attends meetings as needed in place of Director of Facilities, and participates in workshops/in-services pertinent to maintenance department.
- Assists with all audits, testing and requirements of all regulatory bodies, including joint commission, State of Ohio and any federal regulations.
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience with technical trades and life safety codes
- Knowledge of electrical systems, painting, and HVAC work is strongly preferred
- Prior experience in the healthcare field and joint commission life safety codes preferred
Licensure/Certifications
- NVCI
- CPR (BLS)/First Aid
- Valid Ohio drivers license and current active auto insurance
- Ability to be covered under the MHS general liability policy
MHS provides CPR/First Aid and NVCI (CPI Blue) for all new staff, along with on-going education and on-the-job training opportunities.
All MHS candidates are required to have an Ohio BCI check (FBI check required if you have lived in Ohio for less than 5 years, or for working with children), 5-panel drug screen and residential candidates must have a 2 step TB (or proof of prior TB) upon conditional offer of employment.
Salary : $17 - $20
