Overview
We are a group outpatient mental health clinic seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) or Psychiatric Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist (PMH-CNS-BC) to join a private practice (Mental Health Professionals of New England mhpne.com). We are looking for someone that would like to start a caseload for either some extra work or into a part or full time position as there is a large volume potential new people to help with medications inquiring to our practice each week. The position would be flexible on your own time regardless.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health care to patients across various age groups ranging from children to seniors. Your expertise in psychiatric nursing will be vital in assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health conditions while collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide direct, holistic behavioral health care including psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care of a range from children to senior patients in accordance with generally accepted standards of psychiatric-mental health advanced practice nursing and within the scope of practice and licensure.
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and physical examinations of patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments.
- Prescribe psychopharmacology services that accord with current best practices
- Provide on-going medication monitoring for efficacy and side effects from psychiatric medications performing AIMS testing as required by facility protocol
- Assess patient's capacity for making informed treatment decisions
- Order laboratory tests at Quest Diagnostics and diagnostic procedures as clinically indicated
- Communicate findings in a comprehensive and organized fashion verbally and in writing
- Make appropriate, timely referrals and initiates treatments
- Utilize electronic Therapy Notes for accurate documentation and patient management.
- Evaluates and documents patient progress and response to prescribed interventions
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients during their treatment journey
- Perform other duties as required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a concentration in psychiatric mental health nursing. Board certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Psychiatric -Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) or Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist (PMHCNS-BC)
- Current, unrestricted licensure as a psychiatric-mental health Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Must have Federal DEA Registration
- Must have or be able to obtain Massachusetts Controlled Substance Certificate
Additional Information:
Minimum of two years of relevant experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner preferred but would be potentially open to new grads.
Compensation would be percentage based.
Pay: $100.00 - $200.00 per hour
