Position Summary

The Open Access Program Coordinator provides leadership and oversight for intake services and related community-based programs, including the Community Connections Mental Health Court Program and other court diversion or community partnership initiatives. This position oversees operations, supervises master’s-level clinicians, and ensures high-quality assessment, diagnosis, disposition, and referral services for individuals across the lifespan who are seeking treatment.

The role serves as a liaison to courts, treatment providers, community organizations, and internal programs to support coordinated care, appropriate diversion, and effective access to behavioral health services. The Open Access Program Coordinator may also participate in consultation, education, presentations, speaker’s bureau activities, supervision toward licensure, and Quality Improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical supervision, diagnostic supervision, and programmatic oversight for master’s-level clinicians completing assessments, diagnoses, treatment recommendations, and dispositions for patients across the lifespan.
  • Oversee open access program operations to ensure timely access, accurate clinical documentation, appropriate triage, diagnostic clarity, and effective referral or placement decisions.
  • Supervise and support clinicians in evaluating clinical presentation, risk, level of care needs, treatment readiness, and appropriate disposition for individuals seeking services.
  • Provide oversight of the Community Connections Mental Health Court Program Position, which includes; court diversion activities, program workflows, participant outcomes, and collaboration with court and community partners.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal behavioral health programs, community providers, courts, social service agencies, and other community-based programs to promote coordinated care and appropriate service linkage.
  • Monitor program outcomes, operational effectiveness, and compliance with applicable policies, clinical standards, documentation requirements, and program expectations.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement activities, including review of program data, identification of trends, development of corrective actions, and implementation of process improvements.
  • Provide consultation to staff, community partners, and stakeholders regarding intake processes, diagnostic considerations, diversion pathways, and treatment access.
  • May participate in education activities, speaker’s bureau presentations, community outreach, and training related to behavioral health, intake services, court diversion, and community collaboration.
  • May provide supervision of employees working toward professional licensure, consistent with licensing board requirements and organizational policy.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, rehabilitation counseling, education/counseling, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited college or university required.
  • Active independent clinical licensure required, such as LICSW, LCMHC, LMFT, or equivalent, in accordance with organizational and program requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience providing clinical assessment, diagnostic formulation, treatment recommendations, crisis/risk assessment, and disposition planning.
  • Knowledge of DSM-5 criteria and differential diagnosis required.
  • Basic knowledge of the adjudication process within the legal system required.
  • Experience supervising master’s-level clinicians and/or staff working toward licensure strongly preferred.
  • Experience with court diversion programs, mental health court, community-based behavioral health programs, or justice-involved populations is a plus.
  • Skills in using data collection programs and monitoring program outcomes.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to process email and access client information systems.
  • Strong knowledge of behavioral health systems, community resources, levels of care, confidentiality requirements, and documentation standards.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
