Job Summary And Qualifications
The Laboratory Assistant receives and processes specimens and carries out basic laboratory procedures. Additionally, there are required clerical tasks such as greeting patients, informing them of the procedures, answering phones and emails, and maintaining records. What you will do in this role:
- You will accurately identify and label.
- You will prepare specimens for analysis and testing.
- You will unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas.
- You will process all necessary paperwork for submitted specimens.
- You will perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred
- Graduate of Phlebotomy Course required; additional 6 months experience preferred. If phlebotomy program has not been completed, then must have one-year experience in a medical laboratory required or college course work in biological/chemical sciences.
- Six months computer keyboarding or equivalent preferred.
