What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Paraeducator position at Menomonie Area School District?
The School District of the Menomonie Area has two school-year, Special Education Cross-categorical Paraeducator positions available, one at Menomonie Middle School and one at Wakanda Elementary. Both positions are in the SOAR program. These positions are 7 ¼ hours per day, 187 days per year, with wages, hours and conditions of employment in accordance with the School District of the Menomonie Area Employee Handbook. The starting wage is $18.86 per hour with a comprehensive benefit package.
The successful applicants will have the ability to utilize excellent communication skills with students, staff and administration, maintain absolute confidentiality, possess interpersonal skills, follow through on oral and written instructions, exercise prudent judgment, and supervise students in various settings. Applicants should also be independent thinkers and open to change; hold students accountable and have a full understanding of the importance of flawless communication.
Other duties include working with curriculum under the direction of the classroom teacher and administrator in a cross categorical program, providing quality educational services. The candidates may also need to meet the physical requirement of lifting up to 60 pounds and work with students in self-care.
Candidates must hold or be willing and able to obtain the following DPI license #0883 (Special Education Program Aide). The positions are to begin as soon as possible and will remain open until filled with the first review of applications to occur on April 13, 2026. EOE.
