Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in science and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
Duties
- Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the district.
- Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior.
- Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior and evaluate their progress on a regular basis.
- Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
- Attends and participates in faculty meetings.
- Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
Requirements
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an approved college or university.
- Must have a valid Michigan teaching certificate.
- Must meet state and federal highly qualified teacher requirements in a broad field of science as set forth by the State of Michigan.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of technology to promote efficiency in the position.
- Ability to prepare lesson plans and organize a meaningful instructional program.
- Ability to maintain records, and prepare reports and correspondence related to the position.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $38,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
