Health Occupation Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Health Occupation Assistant to join our team. This position will assist the teacher in providing a well organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.

Requirements

• High School diploma required. LPN required
• Ability to work with students and adults of various personalities and deal with conflict.
• Possess sound emotional judgement.
• Care taking training or skills preferred, ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Willingness to commit to working with students with physical and intellectual limitations.
• Demonstrated aptitude of competence for assigned responsibilities.
• Experience as a LPN. Minimum 4,000 hours relevant working hours.
• Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a licensed teacher, prepare for classroom activities.
• Works with individual students to reinforce learning of materials/skills initially introduced by the teacher.
• Provide and maintain positive public relations with students, staff, and community.
• Perform other duties assigned by the building principal.
• Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Job shadowing at health care facilities.

Physical Demands

• Lower body strength to stand and walk throughout the day.
• Verbal stamina to articulate clearly and with appropriate volume throughout the day.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.91 - $19.87 per hour
