Relief Dining Supervisor (Part-Time)

Mennonite Village is seeking a Relief Dining Supervisor to provide leadership and operational support within our Dining Services department. This flexible part-time role serves as an important resource during vacations, leaves of absence, sick days, and other staffing gaps, ensuring residents continue to receive outstanding dining experiences and service.

As a Relief Dining Supervisor, you'll help lead dining staff, maintain service excellence, and support a welcoming environment for residents, guests, and employees.

What You'll Do

• Provide supervisory coverage during staff vacations, leaves of absence, sick days, and other operation needs.
• Support, train, and coach dining services team members.
• Coordinate staffing assignments and assist with daily dining operations.
• Monitor food quality, service standards, dining room presentation, and resident satisfaction.
• Receive and communicate resident dietary preferences and feedback.
• Maintain safe, sanitary, and welcoming dining environment.
• Support compliance with food safety regulations, inspections, and quality standards.
• Assist with special events, catering functions, and campus-wide activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalent required.
• Food Handler's Card or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
• Valid Oregon Driver's license and ability to meet insurance requirement.
• Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to provide operational and supervisory coverage as needed.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous supervisory, shift lead, or leadership experience.
• Experience in food service, hospitality, senior living, healthcare, or dining operations.
• SERV Safe Certification or ability to obtain certification within one year of hire.
• Experience training, coaching, and supporting team members.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and dining service best practices.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday.
• Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach as needed to support dining operations.
• Ability to assist with resident evacuation procedures during emergencies.
• Ability to work in environments that may include exposure to kitchen heat, varying temperatures, food odors, and occasional burns.
