Job Summary:
Meneses Law is seeking a Benefits and Payroll specialist who plays a vital role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee compensation and benefits. This position involves managing payroll procedures, administering employee benefits, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. The Specialist collaborates with HR and accounting teams to guarantee seamless operations, address employee inquiries, and uphold data accuracy. The role demands a strong understanding of payroll practices, benefits administration, and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate possesses excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in relevant software systems.
Benefits and Payroll Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Process accurate and timely payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and company policies.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and other benefits.
- Collaborate with HR to onboard new employees and manage changes to existing employee records.
- Address employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and taxation.
- Stay updated on relevant regulations and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Prepare and submit required reports to government agencies.
- Maintain accurate records of employee's compensation, benefits, and deductions.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Work closely with accounting teams to reconcile payroll and benefits accounts.
- Perform any other tasks or functions deemed necessary to the daily operations of the employer.
Benefits and Payroll Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven experience as a payroll and benefits specialist or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll procedures, tax regulations, and benefits administration.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative. Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail with the proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Advanced with technology and ability to learn our software systems including applicant-tracking software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and MacOS systems.
- Excellent understanding of HR operations (recruiting, onboarding, training, and compensation).
- Principles and procedures of record keeping.
- English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to type 45 WPM or more.
- Must be fluent in both English and Spanish.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
- 2 years of payroll experience.
Compensation:
Meneses Law believes in Work Life Balance. Operation hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. plus 2 Saturdays a month for certain positions.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Education/ Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree, knowledge of MS Office and MacOS.
Communication Skills:
- Ability of reading comprehension, writing, speaking to others to convey information effectively, active listening and interpreting instructional documents. English/ Spanish bilingual oral communication is a must.
Reasoning Skills:
- Must be able to analyze information, problems, situations, practices, or procedures to define the problem or objective. Identify relevant concerns or factors, patterns, tendencies, and relationships. Formulate logical and objective conclusions and recognize alternative and their implications.
Physical Demands:
- This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time, hearing, and talking.
- May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching. May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment, and viewing computer monitor for extended periods of time.
- Involves manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment. May involve moving or lifting items under 10 pounds.
Other skills:
- Strong knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

Work Hours:
- Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm 2 Saturdays, per month. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company need. 20% Travel.
