About the Role
Menehune Water Company is looking for a reliable, hands-on Facilities Technician to join our Maintenance team. You’ll handle a variety of skilled and semi-skilled building maintenance and repair work to keep our buildings, grounds, and equipment clean, safe, secure, and in good working order.
This is a good fit if you’re self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently across multiple trades, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting.
What You’ll Do
- Repair and maintain building structures, furniture, and equipment
- Install cabinets, partitions, carpets, ceiling panels, doors, and locks as needed
- Perform electrical repairs such as replacing switches, wiring, and light fixtures
- Paint building interiors and exteriors, furniture, concrete, and other surfaces
- Estimate materials, labor, and time for projects, and order parts and supplies
- Inspect facilities regularly for security, safety, and repair needs, and take corrective action
- Maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and sanitation of assigned facilities and grounds
- Operate hand and power tools and equipment safely
- Respond to facility emergencies during off-duty hours as needed
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repair, electrical wiring, painting, and carpet/flooring installation and repair
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and specifications (structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems), as well as maintenance and repair manuals
- Ability to operate hand and power tools and equipment
- Knowledge of safe working procedures and practices
- Ability to prioritize and organize work and carry it out with minimal supervision
- Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English
- Ability to physically perform assigned duties, including lifting, climbing, and working in varied conditions
Nice to Have
- Specialized training in building maintenance
- Two years of experience in building maintenance or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid driver’s license
