Job Summary
The Product and Supplies Owner is critical to the success of the patient's healing and the overall growth of Mendota Health. Management of Mendota Health’s various clinical products and devices for our providers, who are in several states across the country, is a major responsibility of this role. Partnering closely with the Supplies Administrator, this position will also oversee our providers’ wound care supply inventory. This person will have a deep understanding of the medical industry, a passion for improving healthcare delivery, and experience in product management, with the ability to translate business needs into actionable solutions. The Product and Supplies Owner will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Clinical Leadership, Compliance, Marketing, and Finance.
Responsibilities
Product Lifecycle Management:
Collaborate with Clinical Leadership to build a deep understanding of provider needs and work to deliver solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
Engage with stakeholders and external partners to gather requirements, clarify product features, and ensure alignment of goals and timelines.
Work cross-functionally with Clinical Leadership and Operations Teams to ensure successful product delivery.
Manage the product lifecycle from concept to launch, ensuring product development timelines are met.
Support clinical products and devices throughout their use at Mendota Health, ensuring that clinical teams are trained properly, and devices support patient healing.
Develop clear, concise product documentation and materials for internal teams and customers.
Work closely with Clinical Leadership and Compliance teams to ensure product quality and safety standards are met, including industry regulations and certifications.
Identify and mitigate risks related to product development, compliance and resolve issues that arise during product launch and post-launch phases.
Inventory System Management:
Implement and manage an inventory management system tailored to the needs of providers in all Mendota Health markets.
Partner with external vendors to define and communicate the vision, strategy, and product roadmap for medical supplies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Manage workflows for procurement, tracking, and replenishment to ensure consistent supply availability and compliance across all locations.
Train and support providers and internal teams on system usage, reporting tools, and best practices to drive operational efficiency.
Monitor performance and usage metrics, continuously optimizing the system and processes based on real-time feedback.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in product management, preferably in the medical device or healthcare industry.
Strong understanding of medical supplies, inventory management systems, healthcare regulations, and industry standards.
Experience with inventory management systems and product management tools.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proven ability to work cross-functionally and lead teams to meet deadlines.
Ability to make data-driven decisions and prioritize tasks effectively.
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on regulatory compliance and product quality.
Familiarity with healthcare IT systems, such as Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Inventory Management systems.
Knowledge of supply chain processes in the healthcare sector.
