School Psychologist: The School Psychologist will conduct psychological, academic, social emotional and behavioral assessments for initial evaluation and reevaluations of students utilizing comprehensive, insightful diagnostic skills, as well as the ability to interpret a variety of formal and informal psychological tests. The School Psychologist is responsible for submitting formal evaluation reports within federal and state mandated timelines and sharing these results at IEP meetings. The School Psychologist will collect, interpret, and synthesize information about students’ academic achievement, intelligence, social/emotional adjustment, and significant stressors or medical issues that influence academic and behavioral functioning. The School Psychologist will have knowledge of specific approaches and tools to assist students, teachers and families in meeting the diverse learning, social, and emotional needs that impede the learning process and overall school functioning. The School Psychologist will also provide social emotional support and services to students on IEP and interventions to students identified through the Multi-Tiered System of Supports. The services and supports include but are not limited to 1:1 and group counseling. Responsibilities and Duties: --Coordinate with other service providers to complete all initial and reevaluation assessment batteries in a timely manner so all procedural guidelines are met. --Consult with parents, guardians or caregivers regarding student areas of concern, assessments and assessment results. --Conduct clinical interviews or screeners with students to assess social and emotional needs and to develop appropriate treatment plans, which might include in school counseling services or referral to community-based behavioral health organizations. --Collaborate effectively with their direct service providers in the building including the school adjustment counselor, guidance counselors, and school nurse. --Functions as a member of school-based Student Success Teams in providing and recommending services for students. --Attend IEP meetings to report findings and assist in eligibility determination, making recommendations for student services and developing student IEPs. --Work collaboratively with school staff in identifying the social/emotional needs of all students --Assure quality control of all clinical services, as well as compliance with legal and ethical frameworks. --Conduct and report on diagnostic psychological, educational, transition, functional behavioral assessments and observations for initial eligibility, reevaluations, manifestation determination and other meetings as determined by the Director of Student Support Services. Required Qualifications: --Masters Degree in School Psychology or other related field --Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license as a School Psychologist, All Levels --Comprehensive knowledge of special education regulations regarding disabilities Comprehensive knowledge of assessments tools and eligibility --Computer literacy skills necessary to generate reports and manage data --Possess solid oral and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications: --Background and training in SafetyCare crisis management and intervention *Salary commiserate with experience and degree level*
