As one of the largest nonprofit providers in Tennessee offering detox through independent living, we focus on trauma informed, person centered care that supports long term recovery and overall well being.
Position Summary
The Clinical Director provides leadership and oversight for all clinical services at Mending Hearts. This role ensures that treatment services meet state licensure standards, CARF requirements, and internal quality benchmarks. The Clinical Director collaborates with the CEO President, Medical Director, Admissions team, and Counseling and Referral team to support referrals, treatment planning, and program development.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in counseling, social work, psychology, rehabilitation, or a closely related behavioral health field.
- Must hold an active independent clinical license in Tennessee that qualifies the individual to provide clinical supervision and meet agency credentialing requirements.
- Concentration in coursework, continuing education, or experience related to co occurring disorder treatment.
- At least four years of experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment, including two years in a supervisory or management role.
- Experience with Tennessee licensure rules, ASAM levels of care, and CARF accreditation preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve clinical admissions consistent with agency criteria and state requirements.
- Provide leadership for clinical meetings, case conferences, and staff trainings.
- Ensure timely documentation, treatment plan reviews, and compliance with all agency and regulatory timelines.
- Submit treatment extension requests to state funders when needed.
- Provide clinical supervision or ensure appropriate supervision is provided to licensed and unlicensed clinical staff in accordance with state regulations.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with CARF standards, Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services requirements, insurance guidelines, and internal policies.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and oversight of interns, practicum students, and licensure candidates.
- Serve as a resource for staff and provide consultation on clinical issues and urgent client concerns.
- Promote an ethical, supportive, and client centered clinical environment.
- Collaborate with leadership on program evaluation, quality improvement, and development of new clinical initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the CEO President or Medical Director.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
