The role offers meaningful client interaction, increasing responsibility, and exposure to a wide range of tax controversy matters, including audits, appeals, collections, and litigation.

This position is well suited for candidates who value professionalism, teamwork, tenacity, and thoughtful, solutions-driven counsel to clients navigating complex and often stressful tax issues.

·        Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on tax procedure and substantive tax issues

·        Support tax litigation matters, including U.S. Tax Court cases, as needed

·        Communicate directly with clients, taxing authorities, and opposing counsel in a professional and responsive manner

·        Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups on tax-related matters impacting business planning, estate planning, and transactions

·        Maintain organized, accurate matter files in accordance with firm procedures and quality standards

Requirements

·        Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

·        Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (Georgia preferred, but not required)

·        1–3 years of experience in tax controversy, tax litigation, or related tax matters

·        Strong knowledge of federal tax procedure; state and local tax experience a plus

·        Experience interacting with the IRS (audits, appeals, collections, or litigation)

·        Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills

·        Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously

·        Professional, client-focused demeanor with strong communication skills

·        In-office attendance required
