The Legal Office Assistant provides administrative support for the Legal Department. This position performs a wide variety of administrative support and legal research duties. This position helps ensure the proper functioning of the department and enhance the productivity and effectiveness of a busy, professional environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparing legal letters, documents and exhibits under direction of Staff Counsel
- Conducting legal and internet research
- Calling courts and setting up hearings, rescheduling hearings, and gathering information and filling documents with courts
- General office work, such as maintaining proper legal files, photocopying, and preparing electronic documents/filings
- Open and close legal files
- Compile quarterly reports
- Use of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point, and Prolaw
- Coordinating departmental documentation for management approval and signatures
- Back up for the Administrative Assistant position
- And other duties as requested or required
