Job Title: Research Scientist – Biotech Drug Delivery & Wound Care

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to join our R&D team in Fort Worth, TX. The scientist will design, execute, and analyze experiments supporting development of advanced drug-delivery formulations and bacteriophage-based therapies. This hands-on role requires strong experimental skills, GLP/GMP awareness, and the ability to work cross-functionally with formulation scientists, engineers, and external collaborators. The ideal candidate is resourceful, detail-oriented, and excited to contribute to a fast-growing startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, conduct, and analyze laboratory experiments in drug delivery, biomaterials, or phage therapy.
- Develop and characterize hydrogel, nanoparticle, or microparticle formulations for therapeutic delivery.
- Support GLP batch manufacturing, aseptic processing, and in-process quality control (pH, viscosity, sterility, etc.).
- Collaborate with microbiology teams on bacteriophage amplification, purification, and stability testing.
- Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks, SOP compliance, and regulatory documentation.
- Interpret and present scientific data to internal teams and external partners.
- Contribute to patent filings, grant reports, and scientific publications.
- Mentor junior researchers and interns as needed.
Qualifications
- BSc experience or Master’s in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Microbiology, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
- Hands-on experience in drug delivery, nanomedicine, biomaterials, or bacteriophage biology.
- Familiarity with aseptic technique, cell culture, and sterile formulation methods.
- Knowledge of GLP/GMP principles and regulatory documentation requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in techniques such as HPLC, DLS, microscopy, and rheology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
