Purpose And Scope
The School Compliance Coordinator position is responsible for the overall management and supervision of the operations of the school. Responsible for assisting with administration and evaluation of all the classified employees. They will also have a dual reporting relationship to the Director of School Compliance and the Principal. Primary responsibility is ensuring the accounting procedures in the school, processing the financial data for the school, and supporting consistent bookkeeping practices that lead to operational and fiscal compliance. Must strictly adhere by law to the State of Tennessee Internal School Uniform Accounting Policy manual.
Essential Job Functions
Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration, Education or a closely related area, plus an additional three (3) years related experience, or equivalent, for a total education/experience of seven (7) years. Experience in project management and secondary education, preferred

Essential Job Functions
- Adheres to all pertinent federal, state, local and Shelby County Schools (SCS) policies, procedures, laws, regulations, codes, ordinances and standards of quality and safety on compliance issues.
- Ensures the timely and accurate preparation of the reconciliation reports. Reports any discrepancies to the Director of School Compliance and the Principal.
- Prepares required reports to maintain accurate information on the federal, state, grant and SCS budgets. Responsible for monitoring all the budgets for the school to ensure thorough and consistent fiscal operation and adequate security of financial resource from multiple sources. Follows SCS financial compliance guidelines.
- Monitors assigned records and procedures for the purpose of ensuring stated outcomes are achieved, accounting and financial transactions are accurate, and services are efficiently provided within budgetary guidelines and federal/state regulatory guidelines.
- Maintains the Student Based Budget (SBB) as well as the entire budgetary responsibilities for the school.
- Organizes school safety and emergency trainings for all employees. Ensures the scheduling of all necessary safety and prevention drills.
- Supervises all classified staff. Establishes work schedules, assign work duties and completes performance evaluations.
- Oversees and monitors the budget and advises the Principal and Director of School Compliance of any budgetary inconsistencies.
- Maintains accurate attendance and payroll.
- Ensures district policies are up to date and in compliance with the law.
- Prepares training materials and presentations on Tennessee Accounting Policy Manual for staff as needed.
- Provides excellent customer service and support for vendors, staff and parents. Ensures accurate record keeping by all staff for auditing purposes.
