JOB GOAL:
The School Operations Lead delivers a high level of competency in school operations, managing complex challenges and implementing innovative solutions that improve efficiency and effectiveness. This role supports a culture of success across the school environment and plays a critical role in building trust with staff, students, and the community through strong operational practices, excellent customer service, and effective use of technology.
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develops, implements, and monitors work practices, systems, and methods that are effective, efficient, and consistent with MSE standards, policies, and procedures.
- Manages cafeterias, transportation, building maintenance, safety, inspections, playgrounds, and cleaning
- Provides direct administrative support to the Directors and Network staff.
- Responsible for all duties that are not directly related to instruction and student achievement including assisting the network administration in managing school activities; supervision of classified support personnel; coordinating activities such as special events; transportation and building maintenance.
- Seeks out and participates in educational and professional development and motivates and encourages such development for school classified employees.
- Recognizes problems and impediments and reports them promptly with options for solutions to the site principal; promotes and assists with constructive resolutions.
- Establishes and maintains professional and cooperative working relationships with all district and community stakeholders: parents, students, staff, neighbors and community.
- Coordinates district-wide and school specific activities related to the smooth opening and closing of schools.
- Provides leadership and a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, resourcefulness, and competency in school operations, and is viewed as an expert within the field.
- Directs the preparation and maintenance of a variety of narrative and statistical reports, records, correspondence, and files related to assigned service, activities, and operations; provides appropriate research and compile reports, as needed.
- Coordinate facility needs, maintenance requests, and ensure a safe and clean environment
- Collaborate with school leadership to implement operational policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and school regulations
- Support emergency preparedness and safety protocols
- Transportation
- RFP preparationd and running the bidding process
- Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum required High School Diploma, preferred bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Finance, Business, Management or a related area.
- Must be physically and mentally able to perform the responsibilities and duties of the position
- Experience in building operations, vendor relations
- Experience in Microsoft Office Applications (preferred)

Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; the ability to calculate decimals and percentages; the ability to utilize principles of fractions; and the ability to interpret graphs.
Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to apply principles of rational systems, philosophies, laws, regulations, and procedures; to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form; and to exercise independent judgment to adopt or modify methods and standards to meet variations in assigned objectives.
Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving evaluation of information against measurable or verifiable criteria and the goals and priorities of planning and development programs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Light Work: may require occasional light lifting or repairing
- Some evening and weekend work may be required for events,special projects or emergency situations
- Experience in school operations, facilities management, or administrative support
- Expect several travels between campuses or locations may be required and travel is included in the pay with in 50 miles
