Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in accounting and administrative support to contribute to the efficient operation of our organization. The ideal candidate will possess proficiency in various accounting software and a solid understanding of financial concepts, ensuring accurate record-keeping and financial reporting. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity of our financial data and supporting administrative functions across departments.

Duties

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and Quicken
  • Perform accounts payable and receivable processing, including invoice entry and payment tracking
  • Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and balance sheets to ensure accuracy
  • Prepare journal entries, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliations in accordance with GAAP standards
  • Assist with payroll processing and tax-related filings, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations
  • Support budgeting processes by analyzing financial data and preparing reports for management
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions through double-entry bookkeeping and account reconciliation
  • Generate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and other relevant documentation
  • Assist with external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data
  • Perform administrative duties such as data entry, document management, and correspondence support

Skills

  • Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial management tools
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles such as GAAP, double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and journal entries
  • Experience with governmental accounting standards and non-profit or corporate accounting environments
  • Ability to perform bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation accurately
  • Knowledge of financial concepts including budgeting, account analysis, and financial report writing
  • Familiarity with payroll processing, tax experience, accounts payable/receivable management, and account analysis
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in data entry (including 10 key typing) and record keeping
  • Effective communication skills for preparing reports and collaborating with team members or external auditors

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
