Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant to join our team. Duties
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and Quicken
- Perform accounts payable and receivable processing, including invoice entry and payment tracking
- Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and balance sheets to ensure accuracy
- Prepare journal entries, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliations in accordance with GAAP standards
- Assist with payroll processing and tax-related filings, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations
- Support budgeting processes by analyzing financial data and preparing reports for management
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions through double-entry bookkeeping and account reconciliation
- Generate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and other relevant documentation
- Assist with external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data
- Perform administrative duties such as data entry, document management, and correspondence support
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial management tools
- Strong understanding of accounting principles such as GAAP, double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and journal entries
- Experience with governmental accounting standards and non-profit or corporate accounting environments
- Ability to perform bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation accurately
- Knowledge of financial concepts including budgeting, account analysis, and financial report writing
- Familiarity with payroll processing, tax experience, accounts payable/receivable management, and account analysis
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in data entry (including 10 key typing) and record keeping
- Effective communication skills for preparing reports and collaborating with team members or external auditors
